Bennett Helps Pacific Get Back On Track

Pacific senior Sidney Bennett hit .409, averaging 3.00 kills and 1.57 blocks per game to garner Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors.

Pacific junior Sidney Bennett (Louisville, KY/Assumption HS) was selected Big West Women's Volleyball of the Week after hitting over .400 in two conference victories for the Tigers. She averaged 3.00 kills, 1.57 blocks and 0.43 service aces per game as the Tigers defeated UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton.

The 6-2 middle blocker hit .409 (21-3-44) and was a force at the net, posting six blocks against the Highlanders and five against the Titans. Bennett slammed 11 kills on just 20 swings to post a .500 (11-1-20) hitting percentage versus UCR in the three-game victory. Two of her six blocks were solos and she also posted a service ace. Bennett climbed over the 600-kill mark for her career in the match.

Bennett had another double-digit kill match against the Titans as she finishd with 10 kills to go along with five blocks and two aces. She swung at a .333 (10-2-24) clip to help Pacific to the 3-1 triumph.

She amassed 30.5 points for the week, an average of 4.36 points per game. This is the second career Big West Player of the Week award for Bennett.
