Freshman Kyle Ochoa earned Big West Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors after scoring game-winning goals against Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly.

Freshman Kyle Ochoa (Etiwanda, CA/Etiwanda HS) provided the game-winning heroics in both conference victories for UC Riverside last week earned the forward Big West Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors.

In Friday's defeat of Cal State Fullerton, Ochoa helped UCR erase a 2-0 deficit assisting in the game-tying goal with 13 minutes remaining in the game. The freshman then scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway with 3:28 remaining to lead the Highlanders to a 3-2 win.

UC Riverside's Sunday match-up with Cal Poly allowed Ochoa another opportunity to shine. With 59 seconds remaining in the game and the score tied at one, the freshman scored another game-winning goal on a rebounded shot.

Ochoa has a team-leading four goals in 2005 and is one goal shy of tying UCR's freshman record of five goals.
