Idaho's Faurholt Takes Over Big West Scoring Lead, Earns Player of the Week Nod

Idaho junior Emily Faurholt (Kennewick, HS., Kennewick HS) has earned Big West Conference Player of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 24-30.

In two Vandal home wins, Faurholt averaged 28.5 points and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting 53.8 percent (21-39) from the field. In a win over Long Beach State on Thursday, the 5-foot-11 post player tallied 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting, to go with four rebounds and two steals. Against UC Irvine, Faurholt posted 31 points, six rebounds, and collected a pair of blocks.

With her performances last week, Faurholt became the Big West's leading scorer at 22.2 points per game, replacing UC Santa Barbara junior Kristen Mann who held the top spot the past six weeks. Faurholt earns Big West Player of the Week honors for the second time in the last three weeks.
