Long Beach State sophomore Robin Miramontes (Upland, Calif.) was named Big West women's volleyball Player of the Week after leading the 49ers to a 3-0 start. Miramontes led the 49er front row attack with 46 kills in three matches (3.83 kpg) and a hitting percentage of .326, combined.
In the season opener against Northeastern, she set a career-high with 20 kills to go along with her four blocks. In the second match, against Liberty, Miramontes set a personal best with three service aces and capped it off with a career-best eight digs in the win over No. 24 Utah.
