Cal Poly junior Eva Nelson (Salinas, CA/Salinas HS) and Long Beach State junior Marcel Torres (Diamond Bar, CA/UCLA) were named Big West Co-Pitchers of the Week as they tossed complete game shutouts against their respective opponents.

Nelson threw a four-hitter in a 6-0 win over UC Santa Barbara on Sunday. She walked two and struck out two in helping the Mustangs win the Big West series over the Gauchos.

Torres pitched a two-hitter in a 3-0 victory against Cal State Fullerton on Sunday. She ran her scoreless inning streak to 16 innings and her ERA dropped to a league-best 0.83. The right-hander struck out five and walked three in improving to 12-2 overall. Torres also produced at the plate, hitting her second home run of the year in a 4-1 win on Saturday.
