UC Santa Barbara senior Leslie Simien (Laguna Hills, CA/Laguna Hills HS) earned Big West Player of the Week honors after leading the Gauchos to an impressive series win over No. 19 Pacific in conference action.

Simien hit a team-leading .600 (6-for-10) at the plate as the Gauchos won two of three games from the Tigers. She started out the series with a 1-for-3 effort in a 4-0 loss, but then scorched Pacific in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. Simien combined to hit 5-for-7 in the twinbill and reached base in six of eight plate appearances. She went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI in a 5-2 victory, and followed up with a 3-for-4 performance in a 5-4 win in the nightcap.

The outfielder also had two stolen bases for the week, increasing her UC Santa Barbara and Big West career record total to 110. That mark leaves her just one short of entering the NCAA Division I all-time top 30.
