Pacific freshman Gina Carbonatto (Lake Stevens, WA/Lake Stevens HS) grabbed Big West Player of the Week honors after sparkling at the plate in a doubleheader sweep of Saint Mary's.
Carbonatto batted .750 (6-for-8) in the two games as the Tigers won 4-2 and 5-2 to increase their record to 14-2, marking the best start in program history. The center fielder had identical efforts in each game, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. She recorded five of her hits as the leadoff batter to an inning. She scored on four of those occasions. Carbonatto also recorded a stolen base in the second game of the doubleheader.
This is the second straight week that a Pacific freshman earned Big West Player of the Week honors. First baseman Jennifer Curtier was named Co-Player of the Week on Feb. 24.
