Pacific freshman Gina Carbonatto (Lake Stevens, WA/Lake Stevens HS) earned Big West Player of the Week honors after helping her team to a 2-1 record, including an upset of No. 3 California.
Carbonatto batted .600 (6-for-10) for the week, adding a run and an RBI. She went 3-for-3 with three singles in the 2-1 win over the Golden Bears, then was 3-for-7 in a split of a non-conference doubleheader against Virginia. Carbonatto had a pair of hits in Pacific's 8-0 win in game one of the doubleheader. Her one hit in game two extended her hitting streak to 11 games.
Pacific senior Jennifer Dacre (Elk Grove, CA/Elk Grove HS) garnered Big West Pitcher of the Week honors after playing a big role in an upset win over No. 3 California and win over Virginia.
The right-hander got the no-decision in a 2-1 victory over the Golden Bears on Tuesday, but tossed 4.1 effective innings and allowed eight hits and one run. She walked a batter and struck out two. Dacre returned the next day and hurled a two-hit shutout as the Tigers won a five-inning mercy rule game, 8-0. Dacre walked just one and struck out three as she improved to 6-2 on the year.
