Pacific middle blocker Jennifer Joines (Milpitas, CA/Presentation HS) earned Big West Player of the Week honors after being named Most Valuable Player of the Community Bankers Classic.
Joines, a 6-3 senior, spurred the Tigers to victory over Alabama-Birmingham and Oregon State in a pair of three-game sweeps at the Spanos Center. She hit .353 (31-7-68) for the week, averaging 5.17 kills, 3.00 digs, 1.33 blocks and 1.17 service aces per game.
Against Alabama-Birmingham, Joines tallied 15 kills, three blocks and five service aces. She hit .444 (15-3-27) for the match. Her second kill in the match gave her 2,154 kills for her career, moving her into sole possession of second place on the Big West career list.
In the Oregon State match, Joines racked up 16 kills, 15 digs, five blocks and two service aces. Her performance helped the Tigers clinch their sixth Community Bankers Classic title in the last seven years, and 14th title overall. Joines hit .293 (16-4-41) in the contest.
