  • UC Irvine's Thomas McCaffrey slashed .429/.583/1.714 with three home runs, 9 RBI and three runs in a three-game series sweep against North Dakota State to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week honor. It is the second career weekly honor for McCaffrey after winning it once during the 2022 season (April 25). 

  • The senior went 1-for-2 on opening day, the hit being a grand slam, with a walk and five RBI as the Anteaters earned a 14-2 win ove the Bisons Friday night.

  • On Saturday, the Santa Monica, Calif. product hit a pair of two-run home runs, including one that broke a 1-1 tie, providing the eventual winning runs in a 7-2 victory. On the day, the Anteater catcher went 2-or-3 with four RBI and a walk. 

  • UC Irvine is 3-0 to start the 2024 season. McCaffrey is currently The Big West leader in slugging (1.714) and OPS (2.297).
