  • CSUN redshirt freshman Jalen Phillips picked up a first career Big West Freshman of the Week award after helping the Matadors to a split on the week. 

  • Playing in seven of CSUN's eight sets, Phillips put down 26 kills on 41 swings with just five errors to hit .512 as CSUN.  

  • Phillips hit .625 in two sets against Cal Lutheran before posting a career-high 21 kills on .485 hitting against No. 16 Princeton. The opposite hitter also had six aces in the two matches, including a career-best five against Princeton. Phillips also added five digs and three blocks in the five-set loss against the Tigers. 

  • Phillips is fourth in The Big West in hitting percentage at .380, which ranks 20th nationally.
