After a weekend split on a long-distance road trip, Cal State Bakersfield redshirt junior Shaunae Brown has been selected as Big West Player of the Week. The award is a first career honor for Brown, and just the second Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball honoree.

In Saturday’ narrow loss to New Mexico State, Brown scored 15 points with two assists and a block. All five made baskets for the Toronto native were triples.

Coming off a season-ending injury in 2022 after just three games, Brown currently leads the `Runners with 12.8 points per game while sharpshooting beyond the arc swishing an impressive 42.1 percent of attempts from distance. Brown currently averages 3.20 threes per game, good for 18th in NCAA Division I.
