  • Savana Chacon anchored the Long Beach State defense to secure Big West Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after also earning acclaim on Sept. 18.  

  • Chacon’s stout play in the back court produced 29 total digs, or 4.83 digs per set, in a pair of sweeps over UC San Diego and Hawai’i. The Crown Point, Ind., native helped hold the Beach's opponents to a .116 attack percentage. 

  • In Thursday’s win against the Tritons, Chacon contributed 16 digs and six assists. Friday, the libero added a double-double of 13 digs and three assists as the Beach downed the Rainbow Wahine in three in the match televised by ESPNU. It was the first LBSU win over rival Hawai’i since 2016.
