  • Zayna Meyer piloted Long Beach State to a pair of sweeps over UC San Diego and Hawai’i to claim Big West Setter of the Week for the first time this season, and a fifth career honor. 

  • The redshirt sophomore led the Beach to a .255 attack percentage while dishing out 11.83 assists per set coupled with 2.50 digs per set. 

  • In Thursday’s three-set win over UC San Diego, Meyer finished with 39 assists, eight digs and two aces. 

  • The Wheaton, Ill., native followed it up on national television with 32 assists, seven digs, two kills and a block as the Beach took down defending champion Hawai’i at Walter Pyramid. It was the first Long Beach State victory over the Rainbow Wahine since 2016, and the first Beach sweep in the series since Nov. 1, 1997.
