  • UC Irvine sophomore forward Emilie Castagna earns Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying one goal and one assist in 42 minutes of play in a 2-2 home draw against UC Santa Barbara on Thursday. 

  • The Bournemouth, England native scored the opening goal for the Anteaters by tapping in a ball that was mishandled by the Gaucho goalkeeper.

  • The sophomore set up UCI's second goal to go up 2-0 with an assist from the touchline. 

  • Castagna is currently second on the Anteaters and tied for eighth in The Big West in points with eight (three goals, two assists). UC Irvine is 3-4-3 overall and 0-0-2 in Big West play.
