  • Long Beach State freshman defender Kana Uchida claims the Freshman of the Week award after getting two assists in the Beach's 4-1 home win against UC Santa Barbara on Sunday. 

  • Both of Uchida's assists came in the second half, the first in the 54th minute and the second in the 78th minute to secure a 4-0 cushion for the Beach.    

  • The freshman had been subbed off when Long Beach State surrendered a goal to UC Santa Barbara, playing 85 minutes of shutout defense. 

  • Long Beach State is 6-3-2 ovrall and currently tied for second in The Big West standings with a 1-0-1 conference record.
