  • UC San Diego first-year player Lauren Brooker secured a second career nod as Big West Freshman of the Week after an all-tournament weekend at the TSU/Belmont Invitational. Brooker also claimed honors on Aug. 29 after an impressive debut weekend for the Tritons. 

  • Brooker finished the Invitational averaging 2.00 kills, 1.67 assists and 1.75 digs per set while finishing third on the team with 28.5 total points as UCSD downed Tennessee State, Jackson State and Belmont in Nashville.  

  • The Calabasas, Calif., native recorded a double-double of 10 assists and 10 digs to open the weekend against Tennessee State against TSU with 10 assists and 10 digs. It was Brooker’s fourth assists-digs double-double of the year. 

  • Brooker closed out the weekend just shy of a triple double in the five-set victory against Belmont. The setter/opposite hitter had nine kills, nine assists and nine digs in the match.
