The redshirt junior was named to the Dukes Invitational All-Tournament Team after averaging 5.00 digs per set and posting at least 19 digs in all three matches over the weekend.

Akima opened the tournament with 21 digs, nine assists and two aces in a four-set loss to New Hampshire. The native of Kalahu’u, Hawai’i, capped the event with a 20-dig effort in the five-set victory against VCU. Akima has now posted 20-plus digs in six matches this season.

The libero currently ranks 28th in NCAA Division I averaging 4.97 digs per set, good for second in The Big West.
