Hawai’i junior Kate Lang again earned The Big West Setter of the Week award, picking up acclaim each of the first three weeks of the season. Dating back to last year, Lang has claimed four consecutive weekly setter recognitions and six since the award begin in 2022.

Lang dished out 127 total assists, or 10.58 per set, with a pair of double-doubles during the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Challenge.

In Thursday’s five-set loss to Liberty, Lang issued a season-high 50 assists to go with 12 digs, three blocks and two kills. Lang followed it up with 37 assists with 10 digs in a victorious effort against Pepperdine and capped the weekend with 40 helpers in the tournament finale against UCLA.

Lang leads The Big West in assists per set with a 10.24 average on the season, already adding 338 to a career tally of 2,341 in three seasons for the Rainbow Wahine. Averaging 10.31 career assists per set, Lang ranks 11th among active Division I players.
