UC Davis first-year player Reese Diersbock hit .500 for the weekend at the Trojan Invitational to earn a first career weekly nod as Big West Freshman of the Week.

In games against San Diego and Marist on Saturday and Sunday, Diersbock recorded back-to-back games with 14 kills while leading the Aggies to a five-set win over Marist in the tournament finale. Diersbock has now reached double-digit kills in six matches of the season.

In the game against the Red Foxes, Diersbock hit a season best .636 with 14 kills and no errors on 22 swings for UCD. All told, the native of Kailua, Hawai’i averaged 2.53 kills per set in the Southland event.
