  • UC Santa Barbara senior Macall Peed anchored the Gauchos’ defense in a trio of matches against Pepperdine, No. 9 Oregon and San Diego State to claim Big West Defensive Player of the Week. This marks Peed’s fourth career weekly defensive honor. 

  • Peed finished with double-digit digs in all three matches this week, including a career-high 30-dig match in a 3-2 victory at Pepperdine. The San Diego, Calif., native added 11 assists in the win, recording a first-career double-double.  

  • The libero scooped up 11 balls against the Ducks before recording 19 digs in a road sweep of San Diego State. Through two weeks of action, Peed is leading The Big West with 5.15 digs per set which rates 19th nationally.
