Dimitrios Mouchlias Award Offensive Player of the Week Week Of 3/27/2023 Sport Men's Volleyball School Hawai'i Year Junior Position Opposite Hometown Soufli, Greece High School Hellenic College of Thessaloniki Dimitrios Mouchlias guided then-second-ranked Hawai’i to the sweep of its two-match conference series at No. 14 CSUN and netted a fifth career Big West Offensive Player of the Week award. The fourth-year junior opposite averaged 4.50 points, 3.50 kills, 1.50 blocks and 1.00 digs per set while serving one ace and hitting .500 (21-2-38) with just two attack errors over 38 attempts. Friday’s opener saw Mouchlias contribute eight kills at a .467 (8-1-15) clip with four block assists, three digs and an ace for 11.0 total points. Mouchlias was the lone player in double-digit kills on Saturday night, putting down 13 at a .522 (13-1-23) rate to go along with a career-high-tying five total blocks (one solo) and three more digs for a match-best 16.0 points. Mouchlias currently leads The Big West and ranks in the top 10 nationally in hitting percentage (.397), kills per set (3.89) and points per set (4.69). With the weekend sweep, UH ascended back to the No. 1 spot in the AVCA poll after just a one-week hiatus. This is a third weekly honor for Mouchlias in this 2023 season, and second in three weeks. The first two came on Feb. 13 and March 13. The native of Soufli, Greece, was previously the offensive recipient on Feb. 7 and April 18 of 2022.
