The fourth-year junior middle blocker compiled a season-high five denials in each contest, with one of them of the solo variety on Saturday, while also excelling offensively and tallying 11 kills on 17 errorless swings (.647). In Friday’s initial meeting inside Maples Pavilion, Voss shared the match high in blocks, put down six kills on seven attempts (.857), served one ace and added a dig and a set assist for 9.5 total points. The rematch saw Voss collect five more kills on 10 attacks (.500), with another ace, two digs and a set assist for 9.0 points. Though this is Voss’ first recognition of 2023, the Brazilian was the defensive award recipient on Feb. 7 and March 14, 2022, as well as on April 12, 2021. Voss was also a league-best three-time Big West Freshman of the Week in 2020.
