  • Cole Power led No. 7 UC Irvine’s defense by averaging 2.00 digs per set as the Anteaters posted a pair of neutral-site victories to begin their 2023 season on the BYU campus in Provo, Utah, earning the libero a first Big West Defensive Player of the Week award.
  • Power logged a team-best eight digs to share the match high in Friday’s come-from-behind, four-set triumph over No. 14 Lewis. The fourth-year senior then provided six more digs in Saturday’s sweep against McKendree. Power added three set assists in each contest, and boasted a stellar service reception rate of .971, with a single error in 34 attempts.
  • A Huntington Beach native out of Edison High School and second-year transfer from UCLA, Power appeared in all 27 matches for UCI in a debut season in 2022, reached double-digit digs seven times, and placed fourth in The Big West with a digs-per-set average of 1.92.
