• JoVon McClanahan of Hawai'i averaged 12.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in three Rainbow Warrior wins at the Diamond Head Classic, to earn The Big West Player of the Week honor, presented by Hercules Tires. McClanahan is a first-time Big West weekly honoree.
• The junior compiled a career-high 17 points, with two rebounds and one steal, in a 76-70 win against Pepperdine in the quarterfinals.
• The Vallejo, Calif. product shot 6-for-7 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line for 16 points, to go with six rebounds, four assists and one steal in a 62-51 triumph over Washington State in the semifinal.
• McClanahan hit the game-winning 3-pointer with less than one second remaining, while getting fouled, to complete a comeback from a 12-point deficit and defeat SMU in the Diamond Head Classic title game. The point guard also dished out three assists and grabbed two rebounds in the contest. It is the first time Hawai'i has won the DIamond Head Classic.
• McClanahan was named the Diamond Head Classic Most Outstanding Player. The Rainbow Warriors enter conference play on a four-game win streak with a 9-3 record.
