Amber Igiede was dominant over two wins on the mainland to lead Hawai’i to a third successive outright Big West title and earn a third career Big West Offensive Player of the Week award.

In the Rainbow Wahine’s come-from-behind five-set triumph at runner-up UC Santa Barbara on Friday night that clinched sole possession of first place, Igiede put down 18 kills to share the match high on .417 (18-3-36) hitting to go along with a match-best five total blocks (one solo), three digs, two assists and an ace for 22.0 total points.

On Saturday night at CSUN, the fourth-year junior out of Baton Rouge, La., put together a line of a match-best 19 kills at a .607 (19-2-28) attack rate, six total blocks (two solo), six digs and a career-high four aces.

For the week, Igiede averaged 5.44 points, 4.11 kills, 1.22 blocks, 1.00 digs and 0.56 aces per set while hitting .500 (37-5-64). Igiede has started all 28 contests for UH and reached double-digit kills in 26 of them.

Igiede’s other two Big West Offensive Player of the Week selections were on Nov. 15, 2021, and earlier this season on Oct. 31. A freshman honor had come back on Nov. 25, 2019. Igiede is also a two-time Big West Defensive Player of the Week, on Nov. 8, 2021, and Sept. 5, 2022.
