• UC Irvine junior guard DJ Davis averaged 17.0 points and 2.5 assists in two wins to earn The Big West Player of the Week honor, presented by Hercules Tires. The Moreno Valley, Calif. product is a first-time Big West weekly honoree.
• Davis shot 45.8 percent (11-for-24) from the field, 44 percent (8-for-18) from behind the arc and was perfect (4-for-4) from the charity stripe on the week.
• The junior Anteater accumulated 10 points, two assist, one rebound and one steal in only 14 minutes of play as UC Irvine cruised to a 96-50 win against Chapman in Monday's season opener.
• Davis was stellar in a 69-56 upset victory over No. 21 Oregon with 24 points, three assists, one steal, two rebounds and no turnovers. The 24 points tied a career-high set last season for the 6-1 guard, shooting 8-for-17 from the field, including 6-for-14 from 3-point range, and 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
