  • Amber Igiede led Hawai’i to a 2-1 record over the weekend to scoop up Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is Igiede’s second career weekly defensive award and fourth overall Big West weekly nod. 

  • Hailing from Baton Rouge, La., Igiede was big at the net with 23 total blocks, including six solo stuffs, averaging 2.09 blocks per set.  

  • Igiede posted nine blocks and a career-high tying three solos in a sweep against West Virginia. In Sunday’s five-set loss to No. 23 UCLA, the middle blocker tied a career high with 10 total blocks.  

  • Also an offensive force for the Rainbow Wahine, Igiede hit .449 with 47 kills on the week, or 4.27 per set. Igiede recorded double-digit kills in each match and recorded her third career kills-blocks double-double to cap the weekend.
