  • Senior libero Dylan Dela Cruz was solid in the back row for Long Beach State, averaging 4.43 digs per set as the Beach opened the 2022 season with a 2-1 record in Portland, Ore.  

  • Dela Cruz opened the weekend with a career-high 24 digs against Oregon State, followed by a 20-dig showing at Portland State.  

  • In the final match of the weekend, the Long Beach, Calif., native logged 18 digs against No. 19 Oregon. The trio of opponents managed just .195 hitting on the week due in no small part to Dela Cruz’ stout defensive efforts. 

  • This is Dela Cruz’ first career Big West weekly award.
