  • Zayna Meyer’s collegiate debut for Long Beach State helped the Beach to a 201 week at the Portland State Tournament and earned the setter a pair of Big West weekly awards.  

  • Meyer distributed 9.71 assists per set and recorded three double-doubles in as many matches. The redshirt freshman closed the tournament averaging 3.36 digs and 1.29 points per set to go along with 10 blocks and five service aces.  

  • The Wheaton, Ill., native kicked off the weekend with 42 assists and a career-high 18 digs against Oregon State, then posted 44 assists and 15 digs at Portland State. Meyer closed the tournament with a career-best 50 assists and 14 digs in a five-set loss versus No. 19 Oregon. The total tally of 136 assists leads The Big West and ranks sixth in NCAA Division I after the first weekend on the courts.
