High School Huntington Beach HS Long Beach State setter Aidan Knipe posted his first collegiate double-double in Friday night’s home sweep over Concordia Irvine, finishing with 42 assists, a career-high 10 digs and one block assist. Alongside his defensive work, the redshirt sophomore out of Huntington Beach set the Beach to a .320 team hitting percentage. Knipe has started all 14 matches he has played in during this 2022 campaign, and reached the 40-assist mark seven times this season and 10 for his career. In addition to his 533 assists, he is third on the team with 70 digs and sixth with 27 total blocks. The son of 19th-year Long Beach State head coach Alan Knipe was previously The Big West Freshman of the Week on March 22, 2021, following his college debut.
