• LeNaya Griffin was a member of both quartets as Long Beach State’s relay teams pulled off a sweep inside their home venue at the Jack Rose Track during Saturday’s Beach Opener.
• Griffin ran the second leg of the Beach’s first-place 4x100 relay in a time of 46.73, ahead of Big West foes Hawai’i, UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.
• The senior also led off the 4x400 relay that went 3:50.46 to finish more than a second and a half ahead of UC San Diego in second.
• Individually, Griffin ran a personal-record 24.21 to place third (second collegian) in the 200 meters, a time that narrowly missed out on the program’s top 10.
