  • Sacramento State forward Zac Giles recorded a goal and assist to earn The Big West Offensive Player of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor for Giles.

  • The senior forward compiled one goal and one assist in the Hornets' 3-1 win over local rival UC Davis on Thursday. It was Sacramento State's first season-opening win since 2019, only the second victory in the last 12 tries against the Aggies, and the first triumph at home over UC Davis since 2015.

  • Giles led the Hornets with a pair of shot attempts against No. 21 Grand Canyon on Sunday, while playing all 90 minutes.

  • Sacramento State has a 1-1 overall record to start the season. Giles is the team co-leader in points with three.
