High School Crespi Carmelite HS Hawai'i starting pitcher Isaiah Magdaleno threw a complete game one-hit shutout to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is Magdaleno's third straight and fourth overall career weekly honor, having won it thrice earlier this season. The right-handed starter threw 9.0 innings allowing no runs, one hits and no walks, while collecting 14 strikeouts, as the Rainbow Warriors defeated CSUN 4-0 on Wednesday. The Los Angeles, Calif. is one of two pitchers in the country this year to throw multiple nine-inning shutouts (Ben Cherico, Saint Louis). Magdaleno is the first pitcher nationally since 2017 (Devin Hemmerich, Norfolk State) to throw multiple nine-inning one-hit shuouts in a single season. Cal Poly is 33-21 overall and finished the regular season fourth in the league standings with a 16-14 league record. Magdaleno is 7-4 with a 2.33 ERA and 112 strikeouts in 89.0 innings of work on the mound this season.
