  • UC Irvine's Joy Anderson set a new school record in the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Multis Invitational to collect the Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week accolade. It is Anderson's first career weekly honor.

  • The freshman broke a 17-year-old school record with 5,572 points. Anderson's mark ranks first in the Big West, 10th in the West Region, and 14th in all of NCAA Division I this season.

  • On the first day of action, Anderson started and ended with personal records that rank among the top-10 in program history. The Lakewood, Calif. native crossed the finish line of the 100m hurdles in 13.89 seconds, which ranks eighth on UCI’s all-time charts. Anderson cracked the top-10 again in the 200m, running the sixth-fastest time in program history at 23.98.

  • The Anteater rookie added season bests in the shot put (11.47m/37'7.75"), long jump (5.28m/17'4"), and 800m (2:12.16) over the course of the performance.
