Louis Sakanoko Award Offensive Player of the Week Week Of 3/23/2026 Sport Men's Volleyball School Hawai'i Year Junior Position Outside Hitter/Opposite Hometown Paris, France High School Francoise Combes HS Leading Hawai’i to the season sweep over defending champion Long Beach State, Louis Sakanoko has been named The Big West Offensive Player of the Week. The award is the second of the season, also earning honors on March 2, and a third career nod. The junior from Paris, France, averaged 3.83 kills per set while hitting .571 for the series with only three attack errors in 35 attempts in the pair of road wins. Sakanoko also averaged 1.00 digs per set while adding four blocks and a pair of aces. Sakanoko played the first three sets Friday’s five-set series opener before succumbing to cramps. He departed the match with eight kills, four digs, an assist, block and ace. The outside hitter was nearly unstoppable in the rematch with a team-high 15 kills, hitting at a .619 clip with one ace, two digs, and three blocks in a straight-set win. Sakanoko is currently third in The Big West and 14th nationally, sporting a .376 hitting percentage on the season.
