  • Long Beach State's Rori Denness-Lamont won the took first in the javelin competition at the Beach Opener to earn The Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor. It is Denness-Lamont's third career weekly honor, having won the award twice in 2024. 

  • The Beach graduate student won the women’s javelin with a throw of 53.89m.  

  • The mark eclipsed her own Long Beach State program record of 52.63m/174'8" and currently ranks first in the Big West, first in the NCAA West Region and first nationally.
