  • UC Irvine junior Andon Kiriakou led the No. 5 Anteaters’ defense in a pair of victories to earn Big West Defensive Player of the Week. This is the first career weekly honor for Kiriakou. 

  • Wednesday, the outside hitter posted a team-high eight digs with a block and seven kills in the 3-1 win against Vanguard. 

  • Kiriakou finished the week with five digs and three total blocks, including two solo stuffs, with four kills and two assists at CUI. The native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada also added an ace each night.  

  • Kiriakou currently rates fourth in The Big West in digs average with 1.82 per set on the season.
