  • Senior outside hitter Kyle McCauley led No. 14 UC San Diego to two five-set wins at No. 11 BYU, averaging 4.11 points, 1.79 digs and 0.5 aces per set, all team-bests, en route to Big West Offensive Player of the Week honors.  

  • On Friday, the Tritons came back from two sets down to earn their first-ever victory over the Cougars. McCauley produced a team-high 20 kills to go along with eight blocks, seven digs, and two aces in Provo, Utah. Fittingly, he had the final kill of the historic match.  

  • In Saturday’s rematch, McCauley totaled 11 kills with nine digs, and a trio of blocks aces and assists in their second five-set victory of the week. 

  • This is McCauley’s third career Big West honor, also claiming Offensive Player of the Week twice in 2020 (Jan. 13, Feb. 17).
