  • Freshman Hilir Henno led UC Irvine to an upset over No. 5 Pepperdine to claim his third Big West Freshman of the Week award of the season (Jan. 10, Jan. 17).  

  • The opposite hitter pounded down 15 kills on .346 hitting with two aces, three digs and three totals blocks in the match. 

  • After dropping the first set 25-13, Henno started UC Irvine’s winning ways with five kills in the second set as the Anteaters reeled of three-straight to claim victory. 

  • In the fourth set, Pepperdine held set point and after an Anteaters’ kill, Henno had a solo block and kill to turn the tide, and UC Irvine went on to close the match with a 26-24 set win.  

  • Henno is currently in the top-25 national rankings in points (4.32 - 16th) and kills (3.47 - 22nd) per set.
