High School Hart HS Long Beach State’s Madi Maxwell helped guide the team to a pair of wins and .304 hitting en route to a third career nod as Big West Setter of the Week. Averaging 10.29 assists per set, Maxwell also added 10 kills, 14 digs and eight blocks in wins against UC Riverside and UC Davis. In the sweep of the Highlanders, the sophomore served up a pair of aces and 32 assists with three kills. Maxwell then followed that up with a double-double of 40 assists with 10 digs and seven kills as LBSU handed the league-leading Aggies just their second conference loss on the year. The Newhall, Calif., native upped the season average to 9.17 assists per set, which lands third in The Big West statistical rankings.
