High School Troy After a first collegiate tournament victory, UC San Diego’ Nathan Tseng has earned Big West Golfer of the Month to round out the fall. The senior from Fullerton, Calif., topped the 108-player field at the Pearl at Kalauao Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawai’i, guiding the team to a second-place finish. Tseng shot three rounds in the 60s (69-69-68) to finish with a 10-under par 206. He carded 18 birdies, the most of any player, with six in each round on Nov. 5-6 to cap fall play. Earlier in the month, Tseng placed 13th in the 96-player field at the Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif, shooting 5-under par to help UC San Diego place fourth out of 17 teams. The event was highlighted by a second-round 67 back on Oct. 9-11. Tseng marks back-to-back Tritons with monthly honors with Davis McDowell earning September acclaim, the first two UCSD golfers to take home the award.
