  • Alex Nikolov led No. 3 Long Beach State to a four-set win over No. 7 USC with 24 kills as he claimed another weekly honor. 

  • The true freshman registered 24 kills on a .429 attack percentage, while adding three aces, two digs, two blocks, and one assist. It was his third 20-kill performance of the season.  

  • The native of Sofia, Bulgaria averaged 6.00 kills per set on the week, bringing his season average to a Big West-best 4.54 kills per set. The tally currently ranks third in NCAA Division I. 

  • This is Nikolov’s third consecutive Freshman of the Week award of the season (Jan. 24 & 31). He also picked up the offensive nod on Jan. 24.
