The product of El Paso, Texas, finished with 40 digs and averaged 4.44 per set in a pair of victories against Portland. The sophomore posted a match-high 17 digs in the opener on Thursday, then tied a season- and career-high with 23, often in spectacular fashion, in UH’s four-set victory in the rematch. Leyva has now posted at least 20 digs three times this season and averages 3.90 per set, which ranks fourth in The Big West.
