  • UC Irvine's Juan Chantaca came in first place at the Vanguard Invitational to claim The Big West Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week award. It is Chantaca's second career weekly honor, having won it once last season. 

  • The sophomore completed the 8K course at Mason Regional Park in 24:05.8 to top the field of 37 athletes.

  • The Anteaters won the team competition with 25 points.
