Jacob Blach Award Defensive Player of the Week Week Of 9/1/2025 Sport Men's Soccer School UC Santa Barbara Year Junior Position Defender Hometown Nykøbing Falster, Denmark High School Sundskolen Junior defender Jacob Blach limited the UC Santa Barbara opposition to just one goal in 180 minutes of play to earn The Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor. It is the first career accolade for Blach. The junior defender helped limit Central Arkansas to just one goal in a 2-1 Gaucho victory, Monday night. Blach and the UCSB defense turned in their first clean sheet of the season, Thursday, in a 3-0 win. UC Santa Barbara is 2-1 to begin the year. The Gauchos have not allowed a goal in their last 137 minutes of play.
