  • Emmanuel Coste opened the dual-match season in impressive fashion, taking down the NCAA's top-ranked singles player and claiming Big West Player of the Week.  

  • Coste took control early against No. 1 August Holmgren of San Diego with a 6-3 victory in the opening set. After falling in the second, he bounced back for the 6-3, 0-6, 7-5 upset win.  

  • In UC Irvine's second dual match of the year, Coste went up against his second-straight top-10 opponent in No. 6 Stefan Dostanic of ninth-ranked USC, dropping a hard-fought 6-3, 6-3 decision. 

  • This is the first Big West weekly award for Coste, a transfer from Oregon hailing from Aix-en-Provence, France.
