High School Shafter HS Cal State Bakersfield's Tom Richardson won the shot put at the Titan Tune-Up to claim The Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor. It is the senior's first career weekly honor. Richardson placed first overall in the shot put competition with a toss of 16.54m/54’3.25“. The senior placed second overall in the hammer throw with a new personal-best mark of 62.31m/204’5”, which ranks sixth in school history, seventh in The Big West and 45th in the West Region.
