Aidan McCarthy Award Track Athlete of the Week Week Of 4/22/2025 Sport Track & Field School Cal Poly Year Position Hometown Pleasanton, CA High School Amador Valley HS Cal Poly's Aidan McCarthy ran a lifetime best in the 1500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational to earn The Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week award. It is the Pleasanton, Calif. native's fourth career weekly honor in track & field, having won the award twice in 2023 and once in 2022. McCarthy ran a personal-best time of 3:36.49 over 1500m to place fourth overall in the elite heat at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Friday night. McCarthy's time is the best in the Big West by nearly five seconds, and ranks No. 3 in the West Region and No. 7 in Division I this season.
