High School Foothill HS UC Santa Barbara starting pitcher Jackson Flora tossed a complete game shutout against Cal Poly to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is the Pleasanton, Calif. native's first career weekly honor. In Saturday's rubber match against the first-place Mustangs, Flora threw nine innings and gave up only one hit and one walk, while accumulating nine strikeouts. UCSB prevailed 4-0 to clinch the series win. Flora is the first Gaucho since 2011 to throw a one-hitter. UC Santa Barbara is 26-12 overall and 12-9 in conference play. Flora is 4-2 with a 3.45 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 57.1 innings of work on the mound this season.
